Paradox and Access are not deemed as reliable databases in a high-volume, multi-user environment.
Either of these databases on a network of more than 3-4 users will typically
encounter corrupt indexes
or database files requiring all users to exit the application to perform rebuild/repair
operations.
These databases are fine in a single-user or small network environment and
are actually very fast..
As of this writing, Paradox can handle a large amounts of data, much more that
Access however
Paradox is not as user-friendly as Access.
With the headaches we've had over the years using both of these databases,
we highly recommend
using a client/server database. We have no preference to which client/server
database as each
one has a place depending upon the requirements.
